Retinal Vein Occlusion leads to haemorrhages (bleeding) and leakage of fluid from the blocked blood vessels.
There are two types of RVO:
Central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO) is the blockage of the main retinal vein.
Branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO) is the blockage of one of the smaller branch veins.

Types of retinal Vein Occlusion
There are two types of retinal veins.
There’s one central vein and may smaller branch vein.
Likewise, there are two types of retinal vein occlusion.
Central Retinal Vein Occlusion ( CRVO ): CRVO is a blockage of central vein. It causes the vein to leak blood and excess fluid into the retina.
When fluid collects in retina it affects vision.
Branch Retinal Vein Occlusion ( BRVO ): BRVO is a blockage in the branches of central vein.
Symptoms of Retinal Vein Occlusion
The primary symptoms of retinal vein occlusion is
Blurry or loss of vision that’s usually sudden in onset. And generally in only one eye
Sometimes, you’ll see dark spots or floaters.
In severe cases cause pain in eye.
If it isn’t treated the blurring or loss of vision usually gets worse in hours or days.
