We poured this little porch last week and now I wanna get the forms off.
First, I remove the 3” deck screws I used to screw the form board to the side of the house.
Then I remove the screws holding the two form boards together at the corner.
I had used TorqueMaster masonry screws to attach the forms to the foundation.
They have a T-25 head which works so much better than a hex head in my opinion.
Now I could have used form release or something on the inside of this wood so it would have come apart easier, but this is nothing that a crowbar can’t handle.
Here you can see some of the Rub-R-Wall waterproofing stuck to the form board.
But this isn’t a problem because this area on the foundation is actually higher up than the finish grade.
I’m really happy with how this slab turned out- there’s no voids or honeycombing.
I had used ¾’ plywood to form up this porch and reinforced it with 2x4s-it worked great, nothing moved or bowed.
This front porch gets fully enclosed with a stone arched opening in the front and a curved roof on top.
Let me know in the comments if you want to see me frame the curved roof. @hausplans
