Lobo, which means "wolf" in Spanish, is the stage name of Roland Kent LaVoie, born in 1943. He is an American singer-songwriter recognized for his series of hit songs in the 1970s. He started his music career with bands such as The Rumours and Sugar Beats before releasing his first solo album in 1969. In 1971, he gained significant recognition with "Me and You and a Dog Named Boo," marking the start of his journey as Lobo.
In the 1980s, he took advantage of his rising popularity in Asia, continuing to release music in that region. He has remained engaged in the music industry, notably releasing the album Out of Time in 2008.

"I'd Love You to Want Me" is a song written and performed by American singer-songwriter Lobo. It was released in September 1972 as the second single from his second album Of a Simple Man.
