RuPaul’s Drag Race star and Drag Race Philippines co-host Jiggly Caliente has lost ‘most of her right leg’ following a ‘serious health setback’ and hospitalisation following ‘severe infection’. The family of Jiggly Caliente, who is best known for competing on season four and All Stars 6 of RuPaul’s Drag Race before becoming a ‘resident judge’ on Drag Race Philippines, have posted a statement to the trans icon’s Instagram sharing that the star suffered a ‘severe infection’ resulting in her right leg being amputated. “The family of Bianca Castro, known to many as the beloved drag performer Jiggly Caliente, is heartbroken to share that over the last month Bianca has experienced a serious health setback.

“Due to a severe infection, she was hospitalized and, as a result, has undergone the loss of most of her right leg.” The statement continued by confirming Bianca/ Jiggly would not be appearing in the upcoming season of Drag Race Philippines, “nor will she be participating in any public engagements for the foreseeable future.” It added that her “recovery will be extensive.”

The statement concluded by asking for privacy for Bianca and her family, adding, “While Jiggly concentrates on healing, we invite her friends, fans, and community to uplift her with messages of hope and love on her social media channels. “Bianca’s family and drag house are deeply grateful for the continued outpouring of support, strength, and prayers.”

Fellow Drag Race alumni have been sending love and light to Jiggly in the comment section of the post. “Praying for you, sister,” wrote Manila Luzon, with Jujubee writing, “I love you so much. Can’t wait to see you again.” Drag Race Down Under‘s Hannah Conda added, “Sending so much love my angel,” with Spankie Jackzon adding, “Thinking of you… take it as it comes.” Kween Kong, Raja, Marina Summers, Pangina Heals and Morphine Love Dion are among others to comment their well wishes.

Jiggly Caliente first appeared on season four of RuPaul’s Drag Race in 2012. She then returned for All Stars 6 in 2021, having coming out a trans woman in 2016. She has also starred in Pose, and served as a judge on all three seasons of Drag Race Philippines.
