✅❤️Rasam powder recipe:

Amla Rasam is a tangy and nutritious South Indian soup made with Indian gooseberries (amla), toor dal (pigeon pea lentils), and a blend of spices. It's a delicious way to incorporate the health benefits of amla into your diet. This rasam is typically enjoyed with steamed rice or can be sipped as a warm, comforting soup.

🥣Ingredients:
6-7 amlas (Indian gooseberries/nellikai) fresh or frozen
1 cup cooked dal (1/3 cup toor dal (pigeon pea lentils) pressure cooked)
1 tomatoes, chopped
1 green chili, slit
1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
1-2 teaspoons rasam powder
1 teaspoon jaggery
Salt to taste
Fresh coriander leaves, chopped for garnish
3 to 4 cups water

Tempering
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
1/4 teaspoon asafoetida (hing)
A few curry leaves
1-2 spoon ghee or oil

🥣Instructions:

Rinse the toor dal thoroughly and cook it in a pressure cooker with 1 cup of water until soft. Mash the cooked dal and set aside.
In a large pot, add alma, chopped tomatoes, slit green chili, salt, turmeric powder and water to the pot. Cook until the amla are soft and tender.
Add rasam powder, and jaggery. Mix well. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Add the mashed toor dal, salt to taste, chopped coriander leaves and add enough water to adjust the required consistency. Bring the mixture to a boil. Remove from the stove.
In a small pan, heat ghee or oil. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
Add asafoetida and curry leaves. Sauté for a few seconds until aromatic. And add to the rasam.
Serve hot with steamed rice or enjoy it as a soup.
