My family trip to Zakynthos was amazing! It’s an island that’s perfect for family trips. It’s not really a backpacking island, so for solo adventures I wouldn’t recommend it. Unless you need a week to relax, then absolutely go!

I went in April and one thing that I noticed is that it’s filled with Dutch people. They were everywhere 😂 I guess we travel to Zakynthos a lot because of the cheap direct flights.

When you go in summer be prepared for huge crowds. At the end of April all the restaurants just started to open up again, so it was a perfect time to visit.

Here are all the best activities you can do on the island:
1. Visit Navagio Beach (Shipwreck Beach)
2. Explore the Blue Caves
3. Take a boat trip to Marathonisi (Turtle Island)
4. Swim at Porto Limnionas Beach
5. Rent a transparent kayak to Cameo Island

Here are all the restaurants I liked:
1. Ole Ole Restaurant
2. Botanic Garden Restaurant
3. Balcony Restaurant
4. Nobelos Bio Restaurant
5. Mikro Nisi Restaurant

But to be honest, whatever restaurant you walk into, they’re all pretty good. The food on this island is amazing and most of the restaurants have very reasonable prices.

To any Greeks out there, which islands should I explore next? Zakynthos is amazing, but it’s very well known and touristy. I would love to visit some more underrated islands!
