According to local residents and some military officials who spoke on condition of anonymity, M23 rebels advanced into Bukavu, DR Congo, over the weekend with minimal resistance. On Saturday, thousands of residents and soldiers fled the city as the rebels entered its outskirts, fearing the impending assault.
