There’s no better place to park Yogi the van for a good view, than directly on the beach - assuming you don’t get stuck in the sand, or the tide comes in and washes you away!

But on this pebbly beach down on the Lizard, you can park up for the perfect, peaceful view without having to worry about these things.

This spot would be the start and end point of a stunning 6 miles walk around the coast.

We found the footpath and headed up onto the coast path and through the stunning landscape this part of the Lizard Peninsular has to offer.

After stopping for a cuppa, we continued through wildflowers and wide ocean vistas until we reached the lookout point at the mouth of the Helford Estuary, originally a decoy lookout to draw fire away from Falmouth in World War 2!

Continuing on the coast path, we hit a closure where the bridge had been removed, so we made our way inland for a detour through fields of wheat and broccoli before we made it to the beautiful cove at Gillan.

We eventually made it back to the village and where Yogi - and our dinner - was waiting for us.

While it cooked, Emma went looking for shells and and tucked into a much-needed meal while enjoying the tranquil views in front of us.
