If you’re flying with Etihad, Saudia, or another premium airline and heading to a non-Schengen destination, you’ll likely be sent here.
It’s called Sala VIP Cibeles Lounge. And it’s one of the more underrated gems I’ve seen lately.
Let me break it down:
- There’s a proper terrace with full runway views. You can step outside, breathe, and watch aircraft move right in front of you.
- Inside, it’s spacious and open 24/7 with seating areas for working, relaxing, or catching a quick nap.
- Showers available if you’re in between long flights.
- The buffet was decent. Cold sandwiches, pastries, fruit, juice, Nespresso, soft drinks, and a range of spirits and wine.
- Solid Wi-Fi, plenty of charging outlets, TVs, magazines, and even a printer if you need to get things done.
- Accessible with Priority Pass, business class tickets, or walk-in payment if space allows.
You’ll find it tucked away in Terminal 1 of Madrid-Barajas Airport. After passport control, head toward Gates B26–B29. Take the elevator or stairs up to the second floor and follow the signs. No one told me at check-in, so you might have to hunt it down. Worth it though.
Not the flashiest lounge in the world, but the space, light, and terrace make it a win. Especially if you want to stay productive or just disconnect before boarding.
