Industrial synth jam in response to a suggestion to perform a 3 minute DAWless EBM track.
The inspiration for the hardware darksynth jam that I developed into this track with a three minute run-time came from a comment on one of my longer practise / work in progress jams (I haven't technically finished that one yet 🙄)

This hardware darksynth cyberpunk track is titled 'Two By Sky', and marks a key moment in my music production with my current setup as it was the first track I've completed using only hardware since my first yamaha sequencer died in the late nineties! Also, it's the first jam I've uploaded that's less than 5 minutes along with the first time I've attempted to develop a DAWless EBM track that I can perform with the same arrangement each playthrough.

A big part of the workflow and methods I'm using come from my early years in metal and thrash, so riffs and melodic phrases over the top of an EBM bassline are the approach I've used here.

CHALLENGE PARAMETERS:

The challenge requirements were for a track of 3 minutes length, so I set myself the task of producing an industrial dark synth style track with the following brief:

⚫️ Performed in real-time using only hardware gear and instruments

⚫️ A minimum of 2 sections, either verse chorus style or section A / section B format

⚫️ A brief intro

⚫️ Something resembling a hook

⚫️ video must be exactly 3 minutes long
