EPISODE 110

Photos: Around the world and throughout history of the aftermath of war.

War is often seen with indifference both for those living afar or from the consideration of it throughout history. We send young men to their death or if they survive they may survive with great physical or mental disabilities - maybe both. When war comes to the homefront children or love ones may be lost causing a lifetime of anguish among survivors. If our priority was to have an absence of war then we would not have war. Although we are making strides toward greater peace we still have very far to go. We live in a world in which greed and power are often the greatest drivers of the world's actions. This could be changed but until we have greater compassion for our world, the world will continue in this direction. What we fail to realize is how close to war any of our countries are at a given time. War may be a coming attraction in your life. War has served as the greatest destruction of our potential. Many civilizations near their peak, in Golden Ages, would freefall in the aftermath of war. The freefall was irrecoverable, sending many into tremendous poverty and at times caused a return to a stone-aged existence. With it a tremendous loss of knowledge, wisdom, culture, and a guarantee of lost potential.
