This woman wanted to leave 50 years ago. But one last goodbye made her stay. She was the first batch of students in this kindergarten. After she grew up, at 20 years old, she decided to take a temporary low paying job at the kindergarten. But she never expected her teacher to get sick suddenly.
With her dying words, she made the then 20 year old promise that she won't let her hard work goes to waste. Of course she had to agree. Within 10 minutes, the woman passed away. She had held on until she could see her one last time.
From then on, she kept her promise. Staying for the past 50 years. She has 40 students currently. Almost the entire town was once her student. They all know her and many come back to visit her. She's always happy to see her students again.
She is the only teacher in the school and the only janitor, only security guard, because no one else was willing to take the job for the low pay. She stayed for the kids as well. Although at first she hated the job she soon got used to the work load and enjoyed teaching the students.
She learned how to play the piano for them and discipline the kids when they bully others. She also play the same games she played as a child. It's unknown whether she'll find a replacement teacher but it's likely that after she retired, that would be it but she kept her promise. And that is worth some recognition.
