A self-proclaimed Black music historian and dance floor queen 👑, Mothafunk (Crissy Collins) hails from the birthplace of house music, bringing all the funky Chicago vibes and deep cuts with her 🎵.

Crissy’s DJ journey began at Rutgers University’s student radio station 90.3 The Core 📻, evolving from a desire to play parties. Her experiences in New York, Chicago, Naarm (Melbourne) 🏙️, and Detroit have shaped her sound and approach to curating music and lineups 🎧.

Now based in Naarm, Mothafunk has shared stages with heavy hitters like Ruby Savage, Marcellus Pittman, Sadhar Bahar, DJ Manny, and many other local and international acts 🎶.

Crissy always has dancers in mind 💃, regularly DJing in Naarm’s dance battle scene and playing events for City Sessions, L2R Dance, MPavillion, and even creating her own dancer-focused party series ‘Cypher Theory’ 🔥. Mothafunk is committed to preserving underground club culture by cultivating spaces centered on dance, connection, music, and community 🤝.
