The construction site of the Southern Route of the Malaya Oktyabrskaya Children's Railway was chosen optimally — in the right-of-way of the "big" railway, which simplified legal operations and obtaining permits. The highway runs from Kupchino (Molodezhnaya station) to Pushkin (Tsarskoye Selo station), and partially runs along the embankment of the Imperial branch of the Tsarskoye Selo Railway. Molodezhnaya station is located next to Kupchino metro station, which should help the road to be more in demand. The Yuny crossing is located in the village of Shushary, adjacent to the platform of the same name, which increases its transport accessibility, and, finally, the Tsarskoye Selo station is located in the city of Pushkin, which should attract passengers with another opportunity to get to the palace and park ensembles. On May 30, 2009, the Governor of St. Petersburg V. I. Matvienko and the President of JSC "Russian Railways" V. I. Yakunin solemnly hammered a crutch into the first link of the rail-sleeper grid laid near the Shushary station. On July 12, 2011, the southern route of the Malaya Oktyabrskaya Railway was inaugurated.
