Title: Crossroads
a.k.a. tree of life
Colored Pencil on 11 x 14 Bristol Paper

This drawing has lots of raw organic material in it. The Jesus figurine is standing atop semi transparent furs above a tree like stem that transforms into a bird and mouse at the bottom. They are both looking at a fish creature with a hook in its tail.
The imagery on the right is nightmarish and there are a cluster of figures at the bottom on the rocky edge.
On the left and upper left are flames or souls that look like flames coming out of a bee hive object and in the center of the tree is a light portal with a soul entering into it.
The imagery I use comes from opaque paint swirls/splatters that I bleed and blend together like a Rorschach test only much more detailed and elaborate. This means you can look at the swirls/splatters from any angle and see completely different characters and imagery. I like to think of it as raw organic matter that manifests in the mind in various ways and is constantly shifting with the interpretation of the viewer over time.
