It’s not the first time Alex has spoken up, especially since the world’s view of Russian figures dramatically shifted after the start of the Ukraine war in early 2022.
At the time, he took to social media to condemn the violence, sharing that while their music embraces brutal imagery common to the deathcore genre, he and the band stand firmly against war. “Please do not make the whole Russian people an accomplice,” he stated. Alex now lives in Florida, but his Russian roots remain front and centre. On Instagram, he opened up about the pride he feels when fans bring the Russian flag to shows, stating that while he loves America and chooses to live there, Russia will always be his “beloved home.”
Slaughter To Prevail are set to hit major U.S. festivals later this year - including Louder Than Life and Aftershock - and they’ve also been announced as featured collaborators on Babymetal’s new album, 'Metal Forth'. The album drops June 13th, with track 3, simply titled “Song 3,” marking a heavy-hitting collab between the two bands that fans are already buzzing about.
