Shortly after San Francisco businessman Simon Dayton asks famed detective James Lee Wong to save his life, Dayton is found dead in his office. The main suspect is Carl Rohmer, an inventor who had previously threatened Dayton with a gun because of the theft of his chemical formula. Police Captain Sam Street apprehends the scientist, but Mr. Wong doubts that Romer is to blame.
