Spotify have just released their new AI playlist feature. Gone are the days of making mixtapes for your crush, now you can just ask Spotify to make you the perfect pining playlist instead. The feature works like a chatbot, meaning you could wake up and ask for upbeat morning jams, then refine it, 90s jams only. Spotify suggests getting a bit more niche with your prompts, such as, tracks for horse riding into the sunset to. This tool is currently beta testing and available to Spotify Premium users in the UK and Australia. Though this new feature is exciting, we can't help but wonder: can artificial intelligence really understand our emotions enough to find us the perfect song?How will this impact smaller artists? And will musicians start writing to appease an algorithm? Have they already started with TikTok?
