Glenn Danzig, a horror-punk and heavy metal legend, distinguished himself from his hardcore contemporaries by trading social commentary for macabre themes delivered in a rich, melodic voice reminiscent of Elvis Presley, Jim Morrison, and Roy Orbison (whom he later wrote for, alongside Johnny Cash).
