Descriptive Text: The trailer begins with a wooden tub of water strewn with flowers as a man’s disembodied voice narrates. In the candlelit room, a nude young woman places her feet in the water as two female attendants bathe her body. Intercutting scenes show a mysterious figure starting a fire with only a hand gesture and sharpening their swords. The scene cuts back to the young woman as her attendants help her into a ceremonial robe and place a wreath of flowers on her head just as the man’s voice finishes narrating.

Text on screen reads: CD PROJEKT RED Presents.

The young woman enters into a crowded village square, with snow melting into the mud at the feet of the villagers. The crowd silently watches the woman as she walks towards her father. He kisses her forehead and the two talk. As the woman begins walking out of the village, the hooded figure is seen following her through the crowd. A villager spots the figure and protests at her presence. The figure’s hood falls down during their heated exchange, revealing the figure to be Ciri. She has a prominent scar on her cheek and her eyes are yellow and cat-like.

Ciri follows the young woman to the forest. The woman sings as she kneels in front of a cave entrance swirling with fog. Ciri interrupts her singing and sends her back home before entering the cave herself. Inside the cave, darkness distorts Ciri’s view. Gnarled limbs swing at her and she futilely tries to block with her sword. A beast shrouded in fog grabs her leg and pulls her into the air. Ciri hacks at the beast’s limb and is dropped to the ground, the darkness oppressively tightening around her. She closes her eyes and swigs from a small flask. Ciri opens her eyes, her pupils glowing white within black irises. Her vision sharpens.

Ciri rushes forward at the beast and engages in combat. She gracefully avoids the beast’s limbs, parrying and blasting a witcher sign that protects her from the beast. The beast traps her sword within two pincer-like limbs and throws Ciri to the ground. She shuffles backwards as the beast stabs the ground with its limbs. It traps Ciri against a rock and taunts her. Ciri reaches out a hand towards a small stream that flows over the rocks, drawing power from it and expelling it into the beast’s body, shocking it with white sparks of magic.

The beast drops Ciri and she rushes for her sword, cutting off two of the beast’s limbs before it rears upward on two legs and stretches out its four remaining arms. Ciri swings a chain and wraps it around the beast’s neck. She imbues the chain with fire as the beast gasps out distorted death throes. Ciri hacks at the beast’s head, cutting halfway through its neck. With a second swing, she decapitates it.

At dusk, Ciri exits the forest carrying the beast’s head. She drops it as she rushes toward the sound of screaming. Outside the forest, a group of villagers with torches gather. The young woman’s father sits on the ground, holding the young woman in his lap. A knife is plunged deep into her chest. Her blood pools and stains the ceremonial robe. Ciri kneels by the father, his face bruised and bloodied. A villager speaks up from behind. Ciri stands up and stalks off, her shining eyes the final frame of the trailer. The scene fades to black before revealing: The Witcher IV.
