O fleeting shades of yesteryear, take hold,
Thy whispers haunt the corridors of thought.
In amber chains, thy moments carved in gold,
Yet time, unyielding, grants thee but as naught.

Thou art the tender wraiths of joy and pain,
A mirror’s truth, yet softened by the haze.
Through thee, the past doth live and breathe again,
A lantern’s glow on life’s meandering maze.

Sweet echoes linger where thy footsteps tread,
A melody that stirs the heart anew.
Though thou art bound to realms of shadowed dread,
Thy solace in the dark remains most true.

O memories, both torment and delight,
