Up to this point in my van conversion I had left the plywood floor uncovered and it had picked up so much dirt, grime…and carpet glue!
I removed the floor from the van…ripping the layer of foil bubblewrap insulation in the process…and, once mended, I could begin work.
Now I had added insulation and carpet to my walls, the floor wasn’t a great fit so first I trimmed it down before sanding all the muck off.
I carpeted the back door edge and then began covering the plywood with a wood effect vinyl. I used contact adhesive to stick it down and once I had navigated all the edges, I could add it back to the van.
I added a black rubber trim to the back door edge to neaten it all up and then used some leftover trim to add an edge to the load ring holes in the floor too.
What’s to stop the floor from moving around? Well, that’d be the van furniture which I start adding in my next video.
