Kaihalulu Beach, also known as Red Sand Beach, is one of Jake's favorite beaches on Maui. It is located on Kauiki Head in Kaihalulu Bay, and the name “Kaihalulu” translates to “roaring sea.” This crescent-shaped beach is cut deep into the Kauiki Head cinder cone, whose rust-red lava cinder cliffs supply the beach with its red sand. Additionally, the cove is protected by a towering wall of black lava rock. Would you visit the unique Red Sand Beach on your next trip to the Valley Isle?
