"My legs are absolutely like jelly, I don't mind telling you."

Simon Groom continues the Blue Peter legacy presenters doing hair-raising stunts, when he joins the 45 Commando Royal Marines for a training exercise at London's Tower Bridge. Ominously, the exercise in question is called the Death Slide - it a 150 metre long rope strung from the top of one of the towers to the banks of the Thames, and marines can hit speeds of up to 40 miles per hour during the descent.

Not to worry though, the wonderfully moustached big Tosh will be there at the bottom to help Simon stop.

Needless to say, don't try this at home, or at Tower Bridge for that matter.

Clip taken from Blue Peter, originally broadcast on 23 November, 1978.
