Today’s episode is about Hydrogen.
Hydrogen’s atomic number is 1, and it’s a colorless, odorless, tasteless, non-toxic, and highly combustible gas.
It’s the most abundant chemical in the universe, it makes 75% of all normal matter.
We also have an actual picture from Hydrogen, taken with a quantum microscope.
The sun converts hydrogen to helium and other forms of hydrogen to give us heat and scientists hope to replicate that process for creating energy one day.
On our planet you can find it in water, fossil fuels, and all living things.
Now what is Hydrogen used for? Well, with the help of Nitrogen it makes ammonia which is a common fertilizer.
We also need Hydrogen to make plastics and pharmaceuticals. It also helps make Margarine.
And as I’m sure some of you have seen, it’s also a source of clean fuel, we already have cars that run on Hydrogen and the good thing about it is that the only by-product from these cars is harmless water.
But I did want to clarify that sadly right now the way they make hydrogen is by utilizing natural gas, so it’s kind of not that clean right now, but in the future hopefully they can make hydrogen with renewable energies.
