The British Government has granted the US President a prestigious second state visit, which involves rolling out the best of Britain’s finery and royal pomp upon his return.
Shaista Aziz, a founder of the Stop Trump Coalition, told LBC’s Matt Frei she is planning to organise “loud, diverse, and good humoured” protests in response.
“Frankly, they will be offering a lot of hope to people, including those in the USA, who are absolutely appalled at what Donald Trump has been up to in the last few months,” Aziz said.
“I think it's an embarrassment that he has been offered the state visit by the Prime Minister.”
The Stop Trump Coalition made headlines around the world during the president’s last British visit, after they flew a large blimp in the shape of an infant Trump.
“The worst thing for Donald Trump is to see the type of protests that we organised the last time he was here," Aziz said.
“His fragile ego is very bruised, and I think he will get another bruising this time as well.”
