A few years ago I was asked to do a DJ mix for The History Of Jungle Show, airing on Dejavu FM. This was a great opportunity to showcase the specific side of jungle I love the most. When one speaks about jungle and drum n bass, it is very hard to imagine what they have in mind. Many times I spoke to people, mentioning I am into jungle, to which they replayed - yeah yeah, me too, - and then pointing into something that to me is just pure MTV pop music..

I am into the type of jungle, which is unpolished, lo-fi, raw, underground, real, free-form - doesn't follow any formulas or rules. So I dig in to my collection of jungle tracks, picking some old original early stuff by Bizzy B, Dillinja, Photek, as well as the new stuff by me, Kid Lib, Phineus II a, the Green Bay Wax sound in general and others.

My first real experience with jungle came from DJ mixes aired on a radio in those early 90s, where it was all about music. No track lists, no nothing.. Just music, that I would record on to a cassette tape and listen back to it over and over.
