In this candid interview, Danko Jones opens up about his journey from his early love for music to becoming one of rock’s most recognizable frontmen. He talks about the realities of self-managing the band, how the music industry works (and sometimes doesn’t), and the importance of staying true to your creative vision. Danko shares his experience of working in a porn shop before hitting it big, and how his DIY approach to music has helped the band stay true to their roots. He also discusses the role of image, touring life, and what it’s like to perform for fans all around the world. Whether it’s the pressures of the industry or the joy of creating music, Danko Jones offers an unfiltered view into the world of rock & roll.
Synopsis: „The New Vitamin“ are a young Austrian band that has only one goal: Getting famous! No matter how, but as fast as possible. The only question that remains is how to do it the right way. Is there a secret recipe for success? How did the established bands make it to where they are, and how the hell does one get a record deal? There are a limited number of steps a young band will have to take in order to even get noticed. First off - start a band! Easiest thing in the world, or is it? Do you have to be able to play an instrument or is it sufficient to be an asshole in front of the camera in order to make it into the next Hall of Fame? What are the other bands doing differently and why does it work better? These and many more questions are usually what aspiring musicians ask themselves on their way to stardom. Only, how does one get an honest answer to them? Are there even any answers or is it all just a question of luck, of being in the right place at the right time?
