In Uganda, they still use the traditional way of building toilets, where they dig a hole 15 meters deep. But why does it have to be so deep? As it turns out, there are important reasons.

First, a deep hole can hold more feces and can last up to 10 years before it fills up. Second, the deeper the hole, the less airflow there is, so odors don't spread to the surface as easily. Once the hole is completed, all they need to do is add a small room above it as a toilet.

This traditional toilet is not only efficient, but also environmentally friendly and a smart solution to sanitation problems in remote areas.
