Paul is the absolute lead singer of The Concentrations. I'm proud to say that The Concentrations were my own personal tribute to The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Impressions, and The O'Jays. A four piece male harmony soul group, led by Paul Bernard and Anthony Jawahall. We released two vinyl 45s on them, both on the Groove Sound USA label, this one and MAN ON THE SPOT, both wonderful. Kev Roberts heard this one at a huge Northern Soul gig in Prague, had no idea what it was, as everybody ran on the floor, and when he asked the DJ he was shocked to discover it was one of my productions that had been ridiculously overlooked. Paul Bernard, Anthony Jawahall and I co-wrote the wonderful song, "Man On The Spot", which sounded like a classic Blackpool Mecca floorfiller. The type that made the entire club run onto the floor from every nook and cranny. The Concentrations are a four-piece classic male soul harmony group. Members include Paul Bernard, Anthony Jawahall, Coree Richards and Anton Gordon, they gathered together especially for the album, "Northern Soul 2008". They did it as a tribute to legendary soul groups like The Contours and The Temptations. Their music bounces along with so much power, from the energetic falsetto vocals, to the bass vocal, that it should have you racing to the dance floor immediately. Paul has the Dennis Edwards type gruff voice and Anthony has the Eddie Kendricks type falsetto. Classic dance sounds, flowing straight from its 60's heritage. Try staying still to this, if you can! I hope it will break down the barriers between the older Northern Soul stalwarts and a new generation, who need younger acts, who still produce the same vibe we all witnessed forty years ago for Motown's glory years. Listen, watch and give new Northern Soul a chance this time.
