During an Appropriations Committee hearing on June 9, 2021, Representative Lori Trahan discussed the Department of Energy's milestone-based fusion development program established in the Energy Act of 2020, and requested funding for the program from the House Committee on Appropriations in order to secure the United States as a leader in developing fusion and in the fight against climate change.
