-- Ethio Brothers entered the music world as a fictional four-piece funk band formed in Ethiopia in 1973. The band members developed their own unique funk style by combining West African musical traditions and Ethiopia's rich musical heritage, especially Ethio-jazz and Afrobeat elements. This unique style allowed them to create a rhythmic and danceable sound that was both connected to their African roots and blended with Western music.

In 1974, the band's first album, "Funk Is Not Dead", was released. This album was considered a groundbreaking work that combined Ethiopia's musical heritage with funk, soul and jazz elements. The album, which drew attention with its guitar riffs, saxophone solos and strong rhythm sections, resonated in the African funk scene and earned the band international recognition.

Combining 70s funk culture with traditional Ethiopian melodies, Ethio Brothers made their mark in music history with their album Funk is Not Dead, as a band that both celebrates the past of funk music and carries it into the future.
