Finishing the first chapter of our journey, we arrive at Wangshu Inn, a perfect respite before our next leg to Liyue Harbor.

A Lantern Rite Journey
Part 1: Between the Stone Gates

This was a difficult one to arrange. I really enjoyed a lot of the melodies and movement from the cellos, which meant that I had to prioritize which voices to include. In the end, I settled from some truncated melody lines written with 3 hand technique, which gives the arrangement a lot of bounce. However, that meant that this arrangement was surprisingly tricky to play both on a technical level and a voicing one.

While I wish I could have perfected it more, I really enjoyed the character of this arrangement and piece as a whole.
