And so, the curtains fall. Here it is! The new Audi R8 GT. The final and maxed out version of Audis halo supercar. I had the privilege to be one of the few invited by Audi to join them for a preview shoot in Guadix in Spain. Limited to 333 cars, just like the 1st R8 GT that was produced in 2011-2013. The biggest surprise and difference here is that Audi wanted to reduce as much weight as possible and also have the best race-car feeling, which resulted in that this version of the R8 GT is RWD only. The power is increased by 50hp from the 570hp in the R8 RWD Performance, and it ends up on the same hp numbers as the R8 V10 Performance Quattro: 620hp.
Other things worth to mention are:- a new 7-speed dual clutch transmission for faster shifts- a seven-stage Torque Rear mode that allows the driver to choose their own level of ESC support, which enables controlled and precise oversteering- the car is 20kg (44lbs) lighter than the R8 RWD performance - exclusive lightweight 20” 10-spoke wheels- upgraded ceramic brakes system- performance sports suspension with the CFRP anti-roll bar- upgraded aero carbon bodykit
