That whiff of old school country that helps define Riley Green's totally modern music has been one of 2018's most attractive aromas. The northern Alabama native hit the ground running when he showed up in Nashville after a string of regional success. He'd learned that a sizable crowd was into the original songs he brought with him, as well as the new stuff he was writing with other key Music City pros. And his early tunes made a dent. His self-title EP and 'Outlaws Like Us' release paved the way for 'In a Truck Right Now' record. A stint on 'Redneck Island' helped with his visibility and recognition, but it's music-making that has fans buzzing about Green and his 2019 moves. We had him in to run through two key songs, "There Was This Girl" and "Break Up More Often." There an irresistible dollop of twang in each, and makes you want to listen to the rest of Green's songbook.
