Hi, Askalotl here. I'm a producer of alternative electronic dance and chill music that sounds somewhat similar to artists like Floating Points, Four Tet, Bonobo, and Underworld. I blend genres like Techno, Trance, House, Jungle and Hip Hop whilst incorporating musical sounds from around the world. I grew up in the 90's so the dance, rock and hip hop from that era has had a massive influence on my sound. You’ll hear the influence of the breakbeat in a lot of my work. I draw inspiration from cross over pioneers of that time like Fatboy Slim, Chemical Brothers and Basement Jaxx. Everything is done at my home in Leeds, in the north of the United Kingdom.
 
 
I began producing music a while ago but never took it seriously until now. I've managed to acquire some hardware such as the Elektron Digitakt, Roland SP404, Bastl Softpop 2 and Arturia Minifreak which I use to create my chilled but upbeat sound. I decided to embark on this musical journey by building an audience through social media. Once I have a big enough audience I will start releasing my music for everyone to enjoy. I intend of playing all my music live at some point and thus I am building a live set as I go. Join me on this journey and let's make something great together!
