This was the first time I ever tried using a loop pedal to record guitar in a recording session. I really like the 'live', improvised foundation it gives to the recording and I think it WOULD HAVE paid off if I'd have noticed the amp/compressor noise in the background before pressing record 🙄. Hopefully that doesn't matter so much. Let me know in the comments haha.
Aside from that, I am happy with how the bass, tambourine and vocals came out (not much of a singer), and I do really like the lead guitar tone in places. The Tascam 688 did a good job, It's just that background noise from the amp that bugs me!
The recording was as follows:
Track 1 - Guitar SM57
Track 2 - Guitar Condenser
Track 3 - Vocal
Track 4 - Vocal
Track 5 - Tambourine
Track 6 - Bass
The delay effect on the vocal and tambourine is from the WEM copicat tape echo unit. I think the bass ran through this too actually. The guitar had a reverb from the SP404a, if I remember rightly. I have no idea what the compressor was doing 🤣
"Ooh La La" is a 1973 song by the band Faces, written by Ronnie Lane and Ronnie Wood. It is the title song of the band's last studio album, Ooh La La.
I do not own the rights to this song. I just made a little tribute to it.
