Here’s an in-depth look at the mechanicals of the Jeep Wrangler!

The 2020 Jeep Wrangler is a true body-on-frame purpose built off-road SUV. It features a 2.0L turbocharged 4 cylinder engine with an 8 speed automatic transmission and a selectable low range off road gear. The suspension front and rear has solid axles, which are good for durability and off road articulation.
Under the hood of the turbocharged Wrangler is a mess of wires and hoses, among other technology such as an electric vacuum pump, integrated intercooler inside the intake manifold and a hydro-electric power steering motor. In this video we break down each sub-component, including the engine, transmission and drive-line, cooling, steering, exhaust, suspension, fuel and body structure.

While the Jeep Wrangler remains tried to its tradition with a solid mechanical foundation underneath, Jeep may have missed the mark when it comes to selection of a 2.0L Turbocharged engine in terms of complexity, ease of access and maintenance, not to mention unknown reliability on this new engine.
