In today’s episode, we take you with us to quite possibly the most breathtaking Highland location imaginable — not to build, dig, or do anything remotely productive, but simply to sit down and eat a cheese and onion sandwich. Yes, really.
Perched beside an ancient Highland homestead, which we’ll explore in full during Sunday night’s episode, we settle into what can only be described as ten minutes of complete nonsense — the kind of idle chat that somehow turns into something much more entertaining than it has any right to be.
We chat about Katie’s very middle-class childhood lunchbox (always a wholemeal bap with tomato, never white bread), and Scott’s memories of life as an army kid, moving between bases with sandwiches of a more utilitarian nature. We dive into the topic of onion — specifically, Scott's love of it, and why cooking remains a domestic battleground.
Somehow, the conversation also turns to the absolute sorcery that is ‘Extreme Beauty Mode’ on our camera — a feature that seems to only work on Scott’s face.
It’s ten minutes of rambling joy, filmed in a place so atmospheric it deserves its own novel — and while absolutely nothing significant happens, we hope it gives you a good laugh and a little window into the quieter, sillier side of life here in the Highlands.
