Producer/musician Dean De Benedictis does a his a cappella version of the old jazz standard "As Time Goes By" as an art stunt at Times Square during AM hours. It is performed live, using Live looping (Abbleton), purely to honor the area for his project Travels Rendered, and it was one of the somewhat-disheveled last stops of a difficult project trip. The recording takes place during the NYC trip of 2011, but the song and video are intended as a New Year's gift for every new year.

This video sketch is given as a sentimental, lonely, reflective, noir-like tribute. To achieve this effect visually, Dean used filtering effects on footage from that same NYC visit, this particular selection having been filmed in-and-around the Times Square area.

More videos from this project will be posted over the coming year, as well as updates on Dean's approaching trip through the American west.
