Part Two of Measuring Meritocracy examines the impact of meritocracy in Singapore's workplace, both in the public and private sector. We look at how the classic tradition of sorting the masses into scholars and farmers, has helped the public service identify top talent for its leadership positions. At the same time, we examine how meritocratic competition has fuelled populism and dark politics around the world.
By delving into solutions to future-proof merit, and incorporate inclusivity and compassion into the system, we explore how Singapore’s model of meritocracy can be updated and evolved to meet tomorrow’s challenges.
