Do you know how Primus got involved with South Park? Matt Stone and Trey Parker were huge fans of the band and would listen to Primus while working on the South Park pilot. When they reached out, Primus agreed to record something… but the original track was way too slow. Comedy Central asked them to redo it, but the band was on tour so they just told them to speed it up. The final vocals were literally recorded at a Primus concert using a handheld tape recorder. That Frankenstein version became one of the most iconic theme songs in TV history.
