I'm teaching my son Shaun, age 8, how to play blues trumpet by ear. This is the prelude--the last video in which he's playing music (i.e., a major scale) that he learned from a book. Everything after this point will be by ear: father to son, voice and harmonica to voice and trumpet.

In late April, if all goes as planned, Shaun will make his public debut on the streets of Oxford, Mississippi with my duo, The Blues Doctors.
