The Jordanaires provided backing vocals for Elvis on his 1950s RCA recordings and many of his 1960s movies.
He first met them when he was with Sun Records. The meeting was backstage at a gig and Elvis said to them, "If I ever get a recording contract with a major company, I want you guys to back me up". He was as good as his word. When he joined RCA, the Jordanaires were there to provide vocal backing on his first RCA single, Heartbreak Hotel.
