Let's talk about why it's important to free yourself from overthinking!

Individuals with OCD tend to believe that if they just think about a problem long enough......or if they ask themselves or others enough questions...or if they replay that conversation in their mind over and over...or if they research enough on the internet...that they can prevent disasters from happening or undo bad things.

This process of overthinking and overanalyzing can in
and of itself become
a compulsion.

While overthinking may appear to provide seconds of relief, the relief isn't lasting.

Overthinking only creates more anxiety, and it makes you really exhausted, because the deeper you dig, the less certainty you find...

...Because the truth is that no matter how much you think about something, you will never be able to have 100% certainty.

When OCD pushes you to overthink, tell OCD that you refuse to engage in "figuring it out" compulsions.

Sitting with the uncertainty is definitely difficult. But you've made it this far...and you have what it takes to continue to learn to accept the ups and downs and uncertainties that come with life.
