First off, it’s ridiculously unsafe. I walked around at night, and guess what? Nothing happened. No crime, no sketchy alleys, not even a single car chase. Just people peacefully minding their business. Super sketchy if you ask me.
And the buildings? Hideous. The Parliament looks like someone tried way too hard. Way too many details, way too fancy. They should just tear it down and make it a massive parking lot. Would be more useful tbh.
The streets? An absolute disgrace. No potholes, no overflowing trash cans, not even a single rat running around. How am I supposed to feel like I’m in a real city?
Also, my hotel didn’t even have a McDonalds on the same street... And I couldn’t even get a proper coffee because—get this—there wasn’t a single Starbucks in sight.
And the entertainment? A joke. Just a bunch of ‘historic sites’ and ‘cultural experiences’ that no one asked for. No massive shopping malls, only tiny portions of fast food, and apparently, people here walk places instead of driving. Unbelievable.
The people? Just awful. They kept being polite, helping with directions, and not speaking perfect English. So rude.
And Sziget festival? Completely dead. No beer pong tables, no backyard BBQ vibes, just huge crowds dancing to music and having too much fun. They should just cancel them at this point.
Long story short, Hungary is a total failure. No skyscrapers, no massive highways, no 24/7 diners. Just a bunch of ‘beauty’ and ‘history.’ Hard pass.
