One of the most significant songwriters of the twentieth century with hundreds of popular songs spanning the late 1950s to 1980s passed away yesterday in LA. Music journalist Matt Charlton talks about Bacharach's talent, style and huge influence. Bacharach's songs were recorded by more than 1,000 artists. "I Say a Little Prayer," "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head," and "I'll Never Fall In Love Again," were all among his timeless compositions. He shaped Paul McCartney's songwriting and, who would have known, was the inspiration for Mike Meyers' creation of Austin Powers.
