BLaKL1st + Lazar unleash "Obsession," a bass-heavy industrial dance track forged in the fires of a historic ex-BBC studio in Maida Vale, London. Recorded entirely analog to 1/4 inch tape, this track carries the weight of musical history, having been created in the same space where legends like David Bowie, PJ Harvey, Radiohead, Bjork, Nick Cave, Tom Waits, and Sinead O'Connor and the fall to name a few' these legenndary artists have laid down their own iconic tracks in this almost religious inner sanctum.
For BLaKL1st, this experience was especially meaningful, as it's the very studio where his parents recorded countless BBC sessions for John Peel. The walls themselves resonate with past and present musical giants. You can feel the creative energy in the air—even David Bowie's ashtray remains at the mixing console! "Obsession" blends dark and alluring textures with infectious hooks, creating an irresistible call to the floor' with roots in UK bass culture and a touch of Romanian flair.

We deliberately kept the lyrics and melodies in most of this song monotone and staccato ' this tune is about the bass ' which is ' for any synth heads out there the KORG MS20 and knowing that ' you will know where this goes at the end the ms20 is capable of braincrushing bass and in the full version we do throw some melody in at the end of the song when it all starts to rise into a sustained bass and euphoric chord sequence
The melodic synth lines and vocals give it a blanket of space at the end point of the song .

You are not going to get the same bass we were hearing at the studio obviously ' the average listener will be most likely to listen through headphones via their phones but if you get the chance bang it up in your car full whack this needs to be loud to feel it .

Thats unfortunately a limitation of modern music distribution it goes out to digital platforms where the bitrates are reduced it goes through limiters and compression etc etc etc in the mastering process . results in a weaker sound with less audio spectrum in it basically .
