Recipe:
10-12 Mint Leaves
1/2 oz Simple Syrup
2.5 oz Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
Garnish with Mint.
Classically it was made with a teaspoon of powdered sugar, but Simple Syrup is just easier to work with.
The original recipe had no bitters but it's not uncommon today to see the Mint Julep served with bittes.
