Between 1949 and 1952, inside the walls of Romania’s Pitești Prison, one of the most horrifying experiments in psychological and spiritual destruction was carried out under the name of “reeducation.” Orchestrated by the Communist regime and executed through prisoners turned into torturers, the Pitești Experiment targeted students, priests, and young intellectuals — not to kill them, but to erase their identities.

Faith, memory, friendship, and dignity were dismantled through beatings, humiliation, forced betrayals, and desecration. The goal wasn’t confession — it was transformation. It was domination of the soul.

This documentary follows the true story of Room 4, the epicenter of the violence, where victims were forced to become perpetrators, where prayers were weaponized, and where mercy itself was punished.
